Watertown Regional Medical Center Welcomes Dr. Michael McGauley to General Surgery Clinic
July 10, 2025

Watertown, Wis. – Watertown Regional Medical Center is proud to welcome Dr. Michael McGauley, a board-certified surgeon, to their General Surgery Clinic. Dr. McGauley brings decades of expertise in surgical care, having served patients across the Midwest in Wisconsin and Michigan.
Known for his patient-centered approach and commitment to high-quality, evidence-based care, he works closely with each patient to ensure they feel informed, supported, and confident throughout their surgical journey.
A graduate of Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. McGauley specializes in a broad range of procedures including hernia repairs, gallbladder removal, colonoscopies, appendix removal, hemorrhoid treatment, skin cancer removal, and thyroid surgery. He treats conditions involving the skin, breast, thyroid, abdomen, colon, and rectum and is highly skilled in both traditional and minimally invasive techniques—including laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
Whether performing a planned procedure or providing urgent or emergency surgical care, Dr. McGauley prioritizes safe and effective outcomes with faster recoveries.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. McGauley to our General Surgery team,” said Gina Novotny, Executive Director of Physician Services at Watertown Regional Medical Center. “His extensive experience, surgical skill, and dedication to patient-centered care will be a tremendous asset to both our team and our patients.”
Dr. McGauley joins a talented team of providers at Watertown Regional Medical Center’s General Surgery Clinic, including Dr. Garrett Fleming, Dr. Emily Stoddard, and Physician Assistant Lindsey Martens, PA-C. Together, they offer comprehensive surgical services for patients in Watertown and surrounding communities.
“I’m excited to join the team at Watertown Regional Medical Center,” said Dr. Michael McGauley. “I look forward to working with patients and providing surgical care that’s compassionate, effective, and tailored to each person’s needs.”
Outside of the operating room, Dr. McGauley enjoys riding motorcycles, hiking, swimming, lifting weights, reading, traveling, attending surgical conferences, and spending time with his family.
As a reminder, one of the most important steps you can take for your health is to schedule a colonoscopy once you reach the age of 45. Colonoscopies are a powerful tool in the prevention and early detection of colorectal cancer.
To schedule an appointment with Dr. McGauley or another member of the General Surgery team, talk with your primary care provider about a referral or call the General Surgery Clinic directly at 920.206.3042 with any questions.
