What is your official Title?
Registered Nurse - Doctor's Court Clinic
How long have you been at Watertown Regional Medical Center? Have you always been in the same position?
I've worked with Watertown Regional Medical Center on and off over the course of the last 14 years. I've worked as a CNA and RN on the Inpatient floor of the hospital and worked as House Supervisor. Recently, I decided to give-up night shift and return to a more "normal" schedule so I started working at Doctor's Court Clinic.
What do you enjoy most about working at Watertown Regional Medical Center?
No matter what area I've worked in, I've had great co-workers that make coming to work feel like a family gathering. Working at Watertown Regional Medical Center is like having a big, extended family.
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
I've always wanted a career that allowed me to help others, being a nurse has allowed me to do that.
What would you say to somebody wanting to get into your profession?
Be prepared for the sad times as well as the happy times. Being a nurse isn't always easy and the hours can be long and exhausting but the reward, the satisfaction of helping someone become well again, is always worth it.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
I love to spend time with my family and when we're not in a pandemic, I enjoy going on vacations.
What is one thing you’re doing to help prevent the spread of COVID-19?
I do grocery pick-up instead of going into stores and stay home as much as possible. I encourage everyone to wear their mask and always wash your hands.
