What Are You Doing for Women’s Health Month?

Women’s Health Month, observed each May, raises awareness about women’s health issues and encourages women to rioritize their well-being through regular checkups, preventive care, and informed lifestyle choices.
This May and every month, Watertown Regional Medical Center encourages you to champion your health. Make some time for your most important asset – your health.
The following activities are an effective guide for all women:
- Schedule an annual wellness visit ‒ Call 920.533.9762 or schedule an appointment with an OBGYN or primary care provider online.
- Exercise regularly – that means moderate activity for at least 150 minutes each week
- Eat a healthier, well-balanced diet - Include foods that are low in salt, fat, and cholesterol
- Control your weight - If necessary, work to reduce it
- Lower your stress or anxiety levels - Take some "me" time. Get a massage or take a yoga class. Considering scheduling an appointment with a licensed counselor.
- Quit smoking - also work to avoid or reduce alcohol use
- Get enough sleep - Recommended 7-9 hours per night for adults
- Get a mammogram - If you are over 40, schedule a mammogram every two years
