Center for Women’s Health Welcomes Nurse Practitioner Abigail Stine
OB Nurse, Abigail Stine, Expands Her Role to Provide Comprehensive Women’s Health Care
Watertown Regional Medical Center is proud to welcome Abigail (Abby) Stine, FNP-C, to the Center for Women’s Health. A familiar face to many, she has been part of the Watertown Regional Medical Center team for the past three years as a Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery Unit.
Abby began her healthcare career as a housekeeper in a nursing home before becoming a CNA, EMT, and eventually a Registered Nurse. Her passion for continuous learning and dedication to women’s health inspired her to pursue her Nurse Practitioner certification from Herzing University while continuing to work at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
“Working in a Women’s Health clinic was always a dream of mine,” said Abby. “Being in this role is something I couldn’t have even imagined being a reality, and I hope my patients know how honored I feel to be part of their care.”
Abby’s clinical interests include caring for obstetric patients throughout pregnancy and postpartum, as well as providing gynecologic care including annual exams and pap smears, problem visits, and contraceptive management including long-acting reversible contraception (IUDs and Nexplanon). Her background in Family Practice also allows her to care for patients with general acute needs, providing a well-rounded approach to women’s health.
While taking on additional responsibilities as a Nurse Practitioner in the clinic, Abby will continue to work part-time as an OB nurse at Watertown Regional Medical Center.
“Staying on the OB unit was very important to me—there’s nothing quite like labor and delivery,” she said. “I truly believe that being both a provider in the clinic and a nurse in the hospital gives me a unique perspective that will add to the patient experience by strengthening communication, patient outcomes, and quality of care.”
Conveniently located at 128 Hospital Drive, across the street from Watertown Regional Medical Center, Abby joins a Center for Women’s Health team that includes skilled and compassionate OB-GYNs Dr. Kaci Axelson and Dr. Melissa Nehls.
“We’re so excited to welcome Abby to our Center for Women’s Health team,” said Megan Wierschke, Director of Women’s Health Services. “Her compassion, experience, and commitment to providing exceptional care will be an incredible benefit to our patients.”
Outside of work, Stine enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, Nala and Teddy, as well as baking, crafting, and traveling.
