WRMC Releases 2025 Community Benefit Report

The Community Benefit Report details WRMC’s positive impact on the health and well-being of Dodge and Jefferson counties.

 

WATERTOWN, Wisconsin – Watertown Regional Medical Center (WRMC) has officially released its 2025 Community Benefit Report, outlining a year of significant investment in the hospital’s infrastructure and workforce and an equally significant impact on the community’s health and vitality.

The report highlights how WRMC continues to serve as a cornerstone of the Dodge and Jefferson County area economy while expanding access to high-quality care through provider recruitment and technological upgrades. In 2025, the hospital added 48 providers in areas ranging from Anesthesiology to Urology, added advanced medical equipment, and expanded its Senior Behavioral Health Unit from 15 to 26 beds.

A Partnership Rooted in Service

"This report looks beyond how we fulfill our mission as a healthcare provider and delves into how we further advance the community’s health and vitality as a large employer, taxpayer, and provider of charitable care," said Richard Keddington, CEO of WRMC. “Our team embraces the opportunity to care for the community and make a positive impact that extends well beyond our hospital walls. And we understand and appreciate that our success in 2025 and over the years is a direct reflection of our partnership with the people of Dodge and Jefferson counties and their ongoing support of our hospital and its services."

2025 Key Impact Figures

  • Charitable Care: WRMC provided more than $13.6 million in uncompensated and charity health services, ensuring care is accessible to all residents regardless of financial status.
  • Economic Engine: Watertown Regional distributed nearly $43 million in payroll and benefits to more than 670 employees and contributed another $185,000 to support team members’ professional development and tuition costs.
  • Tax Contribution: WRMC paid more than $5.3 million in local and state taxes (property, sales, and payroll), supporting essential public services.
  • Capital Investment: The hospital invested more than $6 million in facility upgrades and advanced medical technology to enhance patient care, including:
    • Expansion of the Senior Behavioral Health Unit
    • Renovation of the Sleep Lab
    • Nurse call system upgrade to improve patient experience and safety
    • New clinical technology such as an ENT navigation device, spine navigation robot, and hip surgical table
    • Installation of a new X-ray machine at the Johnson Creek Clinic

Strengthening the Community Fabric

Beyond clinical care, WRMC remains a dedicated supporter of local civic life and organizations that also serve the region. In 2025, the hospital partnered with and sponsored numerous local organizations, including CycleNation Madison (American Stroke Association), Education Foundation of Watertown (Jig Jog 5K), Glacial Heritage Development, Glo-Motion Family Fun Run, Greater Watertown Community Health Foundation, Kraemer's Make-a-Wish Golf Outing, Lake Mills Chamber of Commerce, Lights n Sirens, Milwaukee Regional Emergency Nurses Association, Rainbow Hospice, Riverfest, Rock River Community Clinic, Watertown Aquatics Team, Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce, Watertown Area YMCA, Watertown Fire Department & EMS, Watertown Family Connections, Watertown HOSA, Watertown Main Street Program Santa House, Watertown Police Department, Watertown Senior Fair, and Watertown Unified School District, among others.
