Flu Season is Here! Do You Know What to do?

January 8, 2018

Flu season is here. Are you ready? Flu symptoms are uncomfortable and come on quickly.  Symptoms include:

  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Fatigue

By the time the symptoms can be felt, a person has already become contagious and able to infect others. The flu can also be more dangerous for infants or toddlers, the elderly, or those with lung issues.

If you contract the flu, early detection is key. Prescription antiviral drugs can help reduce the time you’re sick if the virus is caught early enough. And early detection is especially important for those who are susceptible to serious complications. If you or a loved one begins to notice symptoms including coughing, sore throat, fever or upper respiratory symptoms, it’s important to see your provider or visit Urgent Care right away.

Watertown Regional Medical Center’s Urgent Care is open 365 days a year from 10am-8pm.
